67-CD, Quad troubleshooting

Transtec in Holland sent me the new plastic cogwheel for my CD 67 player. I took it to my local Waterloo, Belgium hifi technician. I watched him instal it and check the player. I took the player home. I reconnected its power plug and speaker leads. I tried to switch on the amplifier but no LED (red light) lit up. I should add that I had left the preamp (green light) on while the player was at the workshop. Any troubleshooting suggestions?
