General information [contribute]

Cain and Cain web site (August 2, 2009): Lovecraft Designs was founded by Terry Cain in the Walla Walla Valley in 1980 as The Cain and Cain Co. and continues today handcrafting the highest quality woodwork using the finest materials and tools available. Fortunately, before Terry passed away December 10, 2006, at the age of 47, he had the foresight to hand-pick Jason Flanary, a long-time friend and apprentice to keep the dream alive as Lovecraft Designs.

Lovecraft Designs is a modern guild which espouses the ideals of handcrafted functional artforms. We build and consult for numerous OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), including Mr. Jon Ver Halen to produce the Lowther Alerion speakers, and also the Blumenstein-Ultra-Fi.com line. Our recent retooling has given us an even more efficient production capacity for any prospective OEM customer or even the ability to do one off¯ for talented hobbyists.

Jason Flanary has recently begun working with Clark Blumenstein, also an apprentice of the late Terry Cain and more recently an apprentice of Mr. Hal Teramoto of Feastrex, Japan. By branching outwards and upwards within audio industries worldwide, we now find ourselves to be surrounded by an incredibly abundant resource of friendship and family within the industry. As one might expect, the original Cain and Cain designs are now able to be taken to the next level. Therefore, we are offering an upgrade program for your Cain and Cain speakers. (please contact for more details)

Particular attention is now being paid to our new green shop. Lovecraft uses windfallen local lumber, and our plywood and hardwoods are sourced from sustainable and reputable sources. Also, non-toxic and low-toxic finishes are offered as options for all products. Locally, Lovecraft supports the restoration and maintenance of historic homes via our skilled cabinetry and woodworking. Also, we work with the bourgeoning local vineyard and winery scene on special projects. We offer:

We would be honored to serve any of your needs. Sincerely,Jason Flanary, Lovecraft Designs
