Mike Smith (August 11, 2008):I can verify the es 224 did use RTR brand panels in 1972-1973. I worked at the factory in 73 I owned a pair and was allowed to "Match" the panels on a one time basis. They sounded great, until I lost control of them in S. FLA in 1977; they were the BEST sounding ES-224's, Period. I used them a few times in Disco's in the South Bend, IN and Chicago area's before moving to Florida. I wish I could get them back. Enjoy.
